Matt Hardy Discusses Possible WWE Comeback

Matt Hardy recently shared his thoughts on the potential return of The Hardys to WWE during an episode of his podcast titled The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy. As a talent under TNA, he expressed mixed feelings about his future with both promotions, emphasizing a desire to continue with TNA while also making appearances in WWE.

Matt Hardy’s Vision for The Hardys’ Future in WWE

Hardy noted that in an ideal scenario, he and his brother Jeff would spend more time with TNA. However, he is open to returning to WWE as legacy performers. “I think WWE looks at us as legacy acts. We were WWE, born and bred,” he explained. He sees opportunities for appearances on major shows like RAW, SmackDown, and NXT.

Hardy suggested that their role in WWE would be best as novelty acts. “When we come in for a short, explosive run, that’s where we’re used in our most optimal way,” he stated. He believes pro wrestling is unpredictable, noting that “anything could happen in pro wrestling in 2026.”

Feasibility of a WWE Comeback

When asked about the realism of his vision as a contracted TNA talent, Hardy reflected on the strong feedback they received during their previous NXT stint. He acknowledged that the current partnership between TNA and WWE strengthens the possibility of their return.

“The reactions that Jeff and I got and the feedback… was so strong and valuable,” Hardy affirmed. He expressed pride in the growth of TNA and the duo’s efforts in helping elevate new stars.

Potential Opponents for The Hardys

Regarding potential matches in WWE, Hardy mentioned several teams he is eager to face, including:

  • Wyatt Six
  • Street Profits
  • DIY
  • New Day
  • Motor City Machine Guns

He emphasized the excitement of working with new talent and the evolution of established teams like New Day. Hardy pointed out their recent engagement with WWE NXT, where they held the NXT Tag Team Titles before losing them in a Halloween Havoc match.

As fans eagerly await The Hardys’ next move, Hardy’s reflections paint a picture of a thoughtful return, balancing legacy and current commitments within TNA.
