Starz Cancels ‘BMF’ After Four Impactful Seasons

Starz has officially announced the cancellation of its popular drama series, BMF, concluding an impactful four-season run. The announcement follows around two and a half months after the fourth season came to a close in mid-August.
BMF Overview
The series, produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s G-Unit Film and Television in collaboration with Lionsgate TV, depicted the rise of Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and his brother Terry Flenory. During the 1980s and 1990s, the Flenory brothers became prominent figures in Detroit’s Black Mafia Family, which is the inspiration behind the show’s title.
Cancellation Reasons
Concerns regarding BMF’s future had been hinted at by Starz’s president and CEO, Jeffrey Hirsch. During a quarterly earnings call held the day prior to the season finale, he discussed the show’s “underperformance.” The series reportedly fell short of expectations, leading to slight declines in both over-the-top (OTT) subscribers and revenue.
