Tesco to Remove Major Service in 2,700 UK Stores by Next Month

Tesco, one of the largest supermarket chains in the UK, is set to discontinue its parcel collection service in all locations by the end of November 2023. This decision marks the end of its partnership with Evri ParcelShop, which began in 2021.

TESCO to End Evri Parcel Service in 2,700 UK Stores

As of November 28, Tesco shoppers will no longer be able to pick up Evri parcels at any Tesco Express stores. The supermarket is currently phasing out this service, which has allowed customers to send, collect, and return parcels from various retailers at their local Tesco.

Final Service Dates and Customer Guidance

After the service ends on November 28, there will be a grace period of 10 days for customers to retrieve any parcels they have ordered for collection at Tesco. A Tesco spokesperson confirmed the phased closure, stating, “We are in the process of winding down this service in our stores and will display details in individual stores of when the service will stop at that location.”

Background on the Partnership

The collaboration between Tesco and Evri allowed customers to earn Clubcard points on select Evri orders starting in 2023. Despite the end of the ParcelShop service, the partnership for the Tesco Clubcard continues. Customers can still earn Clubcard points for every £1 spent on Evri deliveries.

Evri’s Future Plans

The news of the service discontinuation comes as Evri prepares to launch a new partnership with Asda. Starting in early 2026, Evri will expand its ParcelShop service to 1,200 Asda stores, which is part of a £50 million investment to enhance its network by 2030.

Tesco Clubcard and Customer Benefits

  • Clubcard Points: Customers earn 1 point for every £1 spent in-store.
  • Points Redemption: 100 points equals £1, with opportunities to redeem through reward partners for extra value.
  • Online Savings: Explore options like delivery saver passes and click-and-collect slots to save costs.

As Tesco winds down this service, customers are encouraged to remain informed about their options and continue taking advantage of Clubcard benefits. This change marks a significant shift in the partnership landscape for both Tesco and Evri.
