Production and Job Creation
The Eurofighter Typhoon jets are produced collaboratively by four nations: the UK, Germany, Italy, and Spain. The agreement is pending approval from the consortium members. Approximately 37% of production occurs in the UK, with final assembly taking place at BAE Systems facilities in Warton and Samlesbury, Lancashire.
- The deal is expected to support around 6,000 jobs at BAE plants in Lancashire.
- Additionally, it will create 1,100 jobs in south-west England, including at the Rolls-Royce facility in Bristol.
- About 800 jobs will be generated in Scotland.
