Alex Forbes, a local meteorologist, indicated that wind gusts could reach between 25 to 30 miles per hour later in the day, escalating to 35 miles per hour in some areas on Monday morning, especially near the South Carolina border.

Steady rain is expected to develop overnight, creating what Forbes termed as “fantastic sleeping weather.” However, the morning commute could be challenging due to the rain. While some areas may experience heavy rainfall, particularly south of Interstate 20, widespread thunderstorms are not anticipated.

Forbes added that another wave of rain is predicted to arrive on Wednesday afternoon, potentially lasting into early Thursday before conditions finally improve.

Looking ahead, the forecast for Halloween appears dry. The weather is expected to clear up completely by the end of the week, paving the way for a high temperature close to 60 degrees. Ideal conditions for trick-or-treating will see temperatures in the 50s, offering classic fall weather.
