A multi-vehicle collision occurred on October 24, 2025, around 1:00 PM on the Ercan-Iskele road. The incident took place between the 3rd and 4th kilometers of the route.
Details of the Collision
The accident involved three vehicles, starting with a car driven by Hüseyin Uzun, who was traveling eastward recklessly. While attempting to overtake other vehicles in his lane, he encountered an unidentified vehicle coming from the opposite direction, which suddenly slowed down.
This created a blockage in the road. Nurettin Dursun, driving a van, was unable to stop in time and swerved onto the right shoulder of the road. Unfortunately, he collided with the right side of another car driven by Arzu Şeker.
Consequences of the Accident
- Arzu Şeker’s car overturned after crashing into a concrete ditch, ultimately coming to rest on its roof.
- Following this, Uzun’s vehicle struck the left front of Dursun’s van.
- The impact caused Dursun’s van to spin around, blocking the roadway until it struck another vehicle driven by Saliha Özlem Doğan.
Injuries and Hospitalization
As a result of the collision, Arzu Şeker and her passenger, Nurcan Erol, were injured. They were treated at Gazimağusa State Hospital and were later discharged.
Nurettin Dursun, however, was transferred to Lefkoşa Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital under observation due to suspected cerebral hemorrhage.
