Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Enhances Mobility and Amplifies Footsteps Noise

In recent developments for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, developer Treyarch has revealed significant changes based on player feedback. During an October 21 dev talk, the team announced enhancements that aim to improve player mobility and the auditory experience within the game.
Enhancing Mobility in Black Ops 7
The Dexterity perk will now be optional when aiming down sights while moving. Treyarch’s design director, Matt Scronce, emphasized the focus on providing a more fluid gameplay experience. The ability to aim down sights while sliding, diving, and performing wall jumps will be reintroduced, reminiscent of features from Black Ops 6.
Optional Feature and Combat Approach
Originally, Treyarch wanted a more intentional combat style for Black Ops 7. Scronce noted, “If players want to adopt a more aggressive movement style, we will have perks available to facilitate that.” The new system allows players to decide how they want to engage in combat.
Audible Footstep Improvements
Another crucial update involves the sound of player footsteps. The Black Ops 7 beta initially featured footstep noises that were barely perceptible. Treyarch responded by increasing footstep volume in multiplayer mode. This change aims to incentivize stealthier playstyles without heavily relying on the Ninja perk.
- Increased footstep noise for better awareness
- Encouragement of stealthy gameplay
- Reduces necessity for the Ninja perk
Community Reaction
Player feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Esports champion Parasite praised the adjustments on social media, stating, “Perfect changes to the perks.” The enhancements are expected to make gameplay more engaging and offer a more balanced experience.
As Treyarch continues to refine Black Ops 7, these updates reflect the developers’ commitment to listening to their community. Players can look forward to a more dynamic gaming experience with enhanced mobility and improved auditory cues.
