Senior running back and linebacker Zayne Williams stated, “We are out here fighting for our right to be able to play in the state playoffs.” He emphasized the unfairness of the situation, attributing the decision to “individuals that haven’t got what they want in life.”

The protest saw strong support from parents, including Megan Cockrell, mother of quarterback Kayden Edwards.
