Kings Activate Perry, Place Captain Kopitar on Injured Reserve

The Los Angeles Kings have made significant roster moves as the 2025 NHL season progresses. They have activated Corey Perry from injured reserve, preparing him for his 21st season in the league. This decision coincides with their captain, Anze Kopitar, being placed on injured reserve due to a foot injury.

Kings Activate Corey Perry

Corey Perry, who is 40 years old, will join the lineup for their game against the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday night. Perry joined the Kings as a free agent last summer, after spending 14 seasons with their rivals, the Anaheim Ducks. His career has included stints with Dallas, Montreal, Tampa Bay, Chicago, and Edmonton.

Perry’s journey to recovery has been impressive. He had sustained a knee injury while skating before training camp began in September. Initially expected to take six to eight weeks to recover, he underwent surgery and returned to the lineup ahead of schedule.

Career Achievements

  • Five Stanley Cup Final appearances in the last six seasons
  • Career totals of 448 goals and 487 assists

Anze Kopitar’s Injury Update

Captain Anze Kopitar is currently week to week after suffering a foot injury from a deflected puck during a recent game against Minnesota. Earlier last month, Kopitar announced that he plans to retire at the end of the season.

The Kings are currently facing challenges on the ice, holding a record of 1-3-2. They are on a four-game losing streak as they embark on a five-game road trip.
