Pratika Rawal Makes History as Joint Fastest to 1000 ODI Runs

Pratika Rawal has made history by becoming the joint fastest player to score 1000 runs in Women’s One Day Internationals (ODIs). This achievement ties her with former Australian cricketer Lindsay Reeler, who set the record back in December 1988.
Historic Milestone Achieved
To reach this landmark, Rawal only required 12 runs during a recent group stage match against England. Although she managed to score 18 runs in that game, she fell short in another effort, scoring just six runs off 14 balls against England.
With this achievement, Rawal has also surpassed the records of several notable players, becoming the fastest Indian to reach 1000 ODI runs. She accomplished the feat in only 23 innings, a record that may have been broken sooner if circumstances had aligned differently.

Future Prospects
The Indian women’s team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, is in a competitive position for the ongoing World Cup. With Rawal’s recent form, they have a strong chance of advancing through the group stages. A victory in their upcoming match against New Zealand could further secure their path to the semifinals.
