NFL Relocates Pro Bowl Festivities to Super Bowl Week

The NFL is set to relocate its Pro Bowl festivities to the week of the Super Bowl, marking a significant shift for the all-star event. This change will take effect starting February 2024, according to an announcement made by Commissioner Roger Goodell.
NFL Pro Bowl Format Changes
The Pro Bowl has seen various changes over the years, evolving into a flag football format in 2023. Goodell emphasized the league’s commitment to making the event more appealing for both players and fans. He stated, “We’ve spent a lot of time evolving our Pro Bowl, talking about how to make our Pro Bowl more attractive.”

Upcoming Super Bowl Events
The Super Bowl is scheduled for Sunday, February 8, 2024, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. In future years, the Super Bowl will return to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood in 2027 and take place at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta in 2028.
Changes in Coaching
Beginning in 2026, the Pro Bowl will introduce two new coaches, replacing Peyton and Eli Manning. The Manning brothers will still play a role in the event.
As the NFL focuses on enhancing the Pro Bowl experience, Commissioner Goodell noted the importance of gathering player feedback. The league consulted with 15-20 players this summer to inform decisions about the Pro Bowl, which has been a staple event since its branding in 1951. Originally held in Los Angeles and later in Honolulu, the Pro Bowl has undergone numerous relocations over the years.
