Pro Bowl Festivities Shift to Tuesday Before Super Bowl Week

The NFL has officially announced a shift in its Pro Bowl festivities, moving the event to Super Bowl week. Starting February, the Pro Bowl will be held on Tuesday night, February 3. This decision was made public by Commissioner Roger Goodell during the league’s annual fall owners meeting.

New Format for Pro Bowl Festivities

This year’s Pro Bowl Games will take place at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, coinciding with the Super Bowl experience fan fest. The venue’s largest ballroom accommodates up to 4,000 attendees, making for a more intimate atmosphere.

While the Pro Bowl continues to be a flag football game featuring teams from the AFC and NFC, there are future plans to enhance its international appeal, particularly ahead of the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Goodell expressed that flag football has gained global popularity, and the league aims to leverage this during upcoming events.

Future Pro Bowl Plans

NFL owners have unanimously approved player participation in the Olympics, though final agreements with the players’ union are still in progress. Additionally, two new coaches will be introduced in 2026, taking over from Peyton and Eli Manning, who will still contribute to the event.

Looking ahead, the NFL will assess the success of the Tuesday night format before making long-term decisions. Goodell emphasized the league’s commitment to honoring its players and promoting the game globally. This year’s Pro Bowl marks a significant evolution in its rich history, which dates back to its inaugural event in 1951.
