He stated that the carriage has served various purposes since arriving at the Goole site. The latest donation will ensure the carriage has a much longer lifespan, bringing additional benefits to the community.

Background of the Class 332 Carriage

The Class 332 carriage holds historical significance as it was part of the first mainline train that Siemens Mobility sold and delivered to the UK. This carriage operated on the line between Heathrow Airport and London Paddington from 1998 until its decommissioning in 2019. After being retired, it was transported to Siemens Mobility’s Goole site for further development.

The Goole Rail Village Project

Siemens is currently developing the £250 million Goole Rail Village, which is expected to create up to 1,000 new jobs in East Yorkshire. This project aims to boost the local economy while promoting rail transport innovation.
