“Watch Rhea Seehorn in New ‘Pluribus’ Series from ‘Breaking Bad’ Creator”

Rhea Seehorn stars in the upcoming sci-fi drama series “Pluribus,” created by Vince Gilligan, known for “Breaking Bad.” The show will premiere on Apple TV with two episodes on November 7. Seehorn portrays Carol, described as “the most miserable person on Earth,” who must save humanity from a peculiar happiness that has swept over the world.

Premise of “Pluribus”

The trailer reveals a world where most of humanity appears to be under an unusual spell of cheerfulness, leaving Carol as one of the few unaffected individuals. Amid this chaos, the President assures her, “Rest assured, Carol. We will figure out what makes you different. … So you can join us.”

Cast and Production Team

  • Rhea Seehorn as Carol
  • Karolina Wydra (“Sneaky Pete”)
  • Carlos-Manuel Vesga (“Donde Tú Quieras”)
  • Guest stars: Miriam Shor (“American Fiction”), Samba Schutte (“Our Flag Means Death”)

The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television, with Gilligan serving as the executive producer along with collaborators Gordon Smith, Alison Tatlock, Diane Mercer, Allyce Ozarski, and Jeff Frost. Co-executive producers include Jenn Carroll and Trina Siopy.

Renewal and Teasers

“Pluribus” has already been renewed for a second season. The marketing campaign began on July 25, featuring a cryptic video that showcased a woman in scrubs interacting with donuts. A subsequent teaser depicted Seehorn approaching a phone alongside the phrases “Call us” and “No pressure.” Those who called the number were sent a message supporting Carol’s agency in the storyline.

Vince Gilligan’s New Direction

For Gilligan, “Pluribus” marks a notable shift, as it is his first project outside the “Breaking Bad” universe in 17 years. He has teased that this series will have “no crime, and no methamphetamine.” The narrative promises significant transformation early on, altering the modern world and setting the stage for dramatic consequences in future episodes.

Stay tuned for the premiere of “Pluribus” on Apple TV, where the unexpected awaits.
