On October 18, authorities in St. Johns County, Florida, responded to a report of a nonresponsive individual in cardiac arrest. The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office categorized the incident as an “attended death.” This designation indicates that Rivers had been struggling with a serious illness, which unfortunately led to his passing.
Health Struggles and Speculations
Leading up to his death, Rivers had been seen wearing a “Fuck Cancer” shirt during performances. This raised concerns among fans about his health issues. DJ Lethal, a fellow Limp Bizkit member, shared a photo of Rivers in the shirt, using the hashtag #fuckcancer as a tribute.
Rivers had a significant medical history, including a liver transplant in 2017 following liver disease attributed to heavy drinking.
