Teen to Perform Live with Sam Ryder for BBC Children in Need 2025

The One Show is launching a new initiative called The Challenge Squad to support BBC Children in Need 2025. As part of this fundraising effort, an 18-year-old singer-songwriter named Kat will perform live alongside Sam Ryder during the Appeal Show. Kat is one of four incredible young individuals participating in this challenge, all of whom have previously benefited from the charity’s aid.
Meet The Challenge Squad
The Challenge Squad consists of four remarkable young people, each with their own inspiring stories. They aim to raise awareness and funds to help others by overcoming personal challenges.
- Kat (18, Hampshire): A burgeoning singer-songwriter who was born with cerebral palsy and identifies as neurodivergent. Music Fusion, a project supported by BBC Children in Need, played a pivotal role in her personal growth.
- Eloise (17, Ayrshire): A young carer for her sister, who manages a rare genetic condition. Ere’s where East Ayrshire Young Carers has provided her invaluable support since she was nine.
- Lloyd (21, Surrey): An avid sportsman born with Down syndrome. He has faced multiple health challenges but currently excels in various sports, aiming to inspire others like him.
- Jude (20, North London): Born with spina bifida, Jude has undergone numerous surgeries but has harnessed his love for football to build confidence and community through coaching.
