Adin Hill Leaves Game Against Hurricanes, Golden Knights Impacted

Adin Hill, starting goaltender for the Golden Knights, left Monday’s game against the Carolina Hurricanes due to a leg injury. This incident occurred midway through the first period while the Knights were leading 1-0.

Incident Details

After making a crucial save, Hill went down on the ice and lay there for several minutes. Team trainer Kyle Moore, along with teammates Zach Whitecloud and William Karlsson, assisted Hill off the rink. He managed to reach the tunnel but appeared to struggle with his left leg.

Hill’s Previous Performance

Hill had already faced a setback earlier this season. He left a game against Calgary on October 14 after the first period and subsequently missed the following matchup against Boston. However, he rebounded with his first win of the season last Saturday. He stopped 26 shots during a decisive 6-1 victory over Calgary.

Replacement Goaltender

Following Hill’s departure from the game, Akira Schmid took over as the goaltender. Schmid has demonstrated solid performance, boasting a 3-0 record, a 3.00 goals-against average, and an .879 save percentage.

Upcoming Challenges for the Golden Knights

The Golden Knights are about to embark on a three-game road trip, starting with a match against Florida on Saturday. Should Hill be unable to travel, the team is likely to call up Carl Lindbom from their AHL affiliate, the Silver Knights.

Additional Injury Concerns

The Golden Knights are already dealing with injury issues, having placed their captain, Mark Stone, on injured reserve before the game. They are also missing forward Brett Howden and defenseman Noah Hanifin.

  • Adin Hill’s injury occurred against the Hurricanes during the first period.
  • Hill has missed games earlier this season due to another injury.
  • Akira Schmid steps in as the backup goaltender.
  • The Golden Knights face further challenges with several players sidelined.
