MGTO’s Macau Races On Wins Best Event Film at 2025 Awards

The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) recently hosted a session to celebrate the success of the film Macau Races On, which won the Best Event Film award at the International Motor Film Awards 2025. This event took place on October 20 at the Macao Grand Prix Museum (MGPM), where the film is exclusively showcased.

Highlights from the Event

During the gathering, MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, along with Deputy Directors Cheng Wai Tong and Jennifer Si Tou, participated in the film screening and discussions. Film director Sérgio Basto Perez and co-director Ho Man U shared insights about the creative process behind Macau Races On and the significance of the award. The trophy for Best Event Film was officially presented to the MGPM for its collection.

Produced to celebrate the 71st Macau Grand Prix, the film Macau Races On features an approximately eight-minute cinematic experience. It chronicles over seventy years of the iconic race, highlighting its cultural significance to the city and its vibrant atmosphere. The film illustrates the emotional connection between the event, local communities, and the legacy of drivers from Macao and across the globe.

Continuous Screening at MGPM

Macau Races On will continue to be screened alongside two other MGTO short films: The Legend of the Macau Grand Prix (2021) and 70 Legendary Years of Macau Grand Prix (2023). These films are available at different times throughout the day, enhancing visitors’ educational experiences at the museum.

The MGPM’s Screening Room is equipped with advanced 4K display technology and a 7.1 surround sound system, ensuring an immersive viewing experience for all attendees.
