Roland Petit’s stunning production of “Notre-Dame de Paris” revitalizes Victor Hugo’s classic narrative through an expressive ballet. Premiering at the Opéra de Paris in 1965, this work features a vibrant depiction of human emotions intertwined with a dramatic medieval backdrop.

This ballet unfolds in two acts and comprises thirteen tableaux. Central to the story are four main characters:
- Esmeralda: The beautiful young woman in love with Phoebus.
- Phoebus: The captain whose heart is captured by Esmeralda.
- Frollo: The conflicted archdeacon consumed by desire.
- Quasimodo: The hunchback who embodies the tragic spirit of the tale.
