Broncos Honor Demaryius Thomas’ Ring of Fame and Super Bowl 50 Anniversary

On Saturday, the Denver Broncos commemorated the remarkable career of Demaryius Thomas and celebrated the 10th anniversary of their Super Bowl 50 victory. This significant event took place at Empower Field at Mile High, where a record number of alumni gathered.
Demaryius Thomas’ Induction into the Ring of Fame
Demaryius Thomas was honored posthumously with the induction into the Broncos’ Ring of Fame. His parents, Katina Smith and Bobby Thomas, accepted the prestigious orange Ring of Fame jacket and ring from Broncos Owners Greg Penner and Carrie Walton Penner.
Katina Smith expressed her heartfelt gratitude, stating that this honor was a realization of Thomas’ lifelong dream to be acknowledged not only for his skills on the field but also for his character off it. “He always wanted to make sure that he mattered,” she said.
Celebrating Legacy and Team Spirit
The evening was filled with nostalgia as Super Bowl 50 alumni shared memories of Thomas and reflected on the team’s historic season. Notable speakers included Pro Football Hall of Famers DeMarcus Ware and Peyton Manning, along with a surprise video from Super Bowl 50 MVP Von Miller.
Peyton Manning emphasized the unique bond that existed within the team: “It was just a special team to be a part of. Talented players with unselfishness can lead to a special season.”
Upcoming Commemorations
The Broncos will continue the celebrations with additional events. At 11:30 a.m. MT, a pillar honoring Thomas will be unveiled in Ring of Fame Plaza. His parents and Super Bowl 50 head coach Gary Kubiak are scheduled to speak during this special occasion.
During halftime, Thomas’ name will be revealed on the Level 5 facade of Empower Field at Mile High, ensuring that his contributions are permanently recognized. These celebrations present an opportunity for Broncos Country to honor both Demaryius Thomas and the 2015 Super Bowl winning team.
This gathering allowed the former champions to reminisce and celebrate together, cherishing their shared memories, laughter, and tears while honoring both Thomas’ legacy and the Lombardi Trophy they achieved as a team.
