Major March Unites Trois-Rivières and Bécancour

On Saturday, a significant event will take place in Bécancour, part of the upcoming Major March that unites Trois-Rivières and Bécancour. This year marks the 11th edition of the event held across approximately 100 cities in Quebec.

Event Details

The Major March will occur at the Museum of Biodiversity in Sainte-Angèle, Bécancour. Participants can choose between two walking routes of 2.5 km and 5 km, starting at 9:30 AM.

Schedule and Activities

  • Start Time: Routes begin at 9:30 AM.
  • Warm-up Session: Begins at 9:15 AM, featuring animation and stretching exercises.
  • Refreshments: Snacks will be available at the finish line.
  • Water Stations: Bring your own water bottle as no fountains are available; however, a water service will be present.
  • Parking: Limited parking spaces; carpooling, walking, or cycling is encouraged.
  • Discount: Participants will receive a 50% discount at the Museum of Biodiversity after the event (free for children under 5).

Sunday Activities in Trois-Rivières

For those who wish to join the Major March on Sunday, the event will take place at the Seigneurial Mill in Pointe-du-Lac, Trois-Rivières. The activities start at 9:00 AM with a welcome speech followed by a warm-up led by Colette Pirouette.

Ongoing Events

  • Departure Times: Participants can begin walking continuously until 1:30 PM.
  • Musical Entertainment: Live performances by Claude Dupont will enhance the atmosphere.
  • Participation: An expected turnout of 1,600 individuals aims to promote health and wellness.

Registration Information

Online registration is highly recommended to track participant numbers. However, attendees can also register on-site on the day of the event.
