Commanders’ WR McLaurin Misses Fourth Consecutive Game

Terry McLaurin, the standout wide receiver for the Washington Commanders, will miss his fourth straight game due to a right quad injury. Head coach Dan Quinn confirmed this news on Friday, adding to the roster challenges faced by the team.

Injury Updates and Impact on the Commanders

McLaurin sustained the injury during a Week 3 victory over the Raiders. There was optimism regarding his return for the upcoming game against the Dallas Cowboys. However, Quinn remarked on the frustration McLaurin feels as he works hard to recover.

  • McLaurin has not played since Week 3.
  • The Commanders currently hold a 3-3 record.
  • Without McLaurin, the team has been without two of their top three wide receivers.

Additional Roster Issues

Compounding the situation, the Commanders had to place another receiver, Noah Brown, on injured reserve earlier this week. Deebo Samuel, who has managed to play through a bruised heel, is uncertain for the upcoming game after participating in practice.

  • Deebo Samuel currently leads the team with 34 receptions, totaling 315 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Challenges of Recovery

Coach Quinn indicated that monitoring McLaurin’s recovery process is crucial, especially given the nature of soft tissue injuries. During practice, McLaurin’s performances were closely observed, focusing on his acceleration and deceleration capabilities.

Quinn remains hopeful for McLaurin’s return but acknowledges that the team must carefully manage his rehabilitation.
