Rain Tapers Off at Night, Sunday Morning Temperatures Plummet

On September 16, cloud cover is prevalent in the Seoul area and other parts of the country. The forecast indicates sporadic clouds over the capital and central regions, while the eastern coast, southeastern areas, and Jeju Island will experience continuous rain.

  • Eastern coastal regions: 5-10 mm of rain
  • Southeastern regions and Jeju: approximately 5 mm

Most rain is expected to cease by nightfall. However, in the southern sea areas, including the East Sea and the seas around Jeju, strong winds along with thunder and lightning may occur. It is crucial for mariners to exercise caution due to potential safety hazards.

Daytime Temperatures

During the day, temperatures are forecasted to be above average. In Seoul, the high will reach around 23°C, which is about 3°C above normal. Other cities are expected to see similar warm conditions:

  • Daejeon: 23°C
  • Pusan: 24°C
  • Gwangju: 27°C

These temperatures indicate a late summer warmth that continues to linger.

Upcoming Weather Outlook

As night begins to fall, rain will return, starting from the western parts of the country. By Saturday, widespread showers will occur across various regions, with rain expected to taper off by midday.

Once the rain subsides, much cooler temperatures will set in for Sunday morning. In Seoul, the temperature is predicted to drop to single digits, indicating a notable transition into a cooler season.
