Plane Crash on Massachusetts Highway Claims 2 Lives

On Monday morning, a tragic plane crash in Southeastern Massachusetts resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left one person on the ground injured. The incident occurred around 8:15 a.m. on Interstate 195 in Dartmouth.

Details of the Crash

The small fixed-wing aircraft reportedly crashed and caught fire in the grassy median of the highway. The accident took place approximately 30 miles southeast of Providence, Rhode Island. As a consequence, authorities closed the highway in both directions, according to the Massachusetts State Police.

Prior to the incident, a nor’easter brought heavy rain and strong winds to the region. By midmorning, conditions had improved to light rain and winds.

The cause of the plane crash remains unclear. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) typically investigates such accidents; however, there was no immediate comment from the agency regarding this incident.
