Challenges in Receiving Care
Despite seeking medical assistance, Clément faced repeated denials from local doctors, who would send him home without adequate help. He described his feelings of neglect, saying, “I feel like a mistreated dog.”
The situation escalated this past summer when he developed a severe infection that almost took his life. Fortunately, a nurse from CLSC recognized the seriousness of his state and referred him to the emergency room, which ultimately saved his life.
