Vodafone Outage Leaves Thousands Without Internet Access

Thousands of Vodafone customers are currently experiencing significant disruptions to their internet services. Reports indicate that nearly 140,000 users have submitted notifications about outages majorly affecting broadband connectivity. Issues began surfacing shortly before 3 PM, highlighting widespread connectivity problems.

The disruptions primarily impact users’ home broadband services, with some reporting problems with mobile internet. A noticeable wave of complaints has emerged on social media platforms, where many customers express frustration and seek information about the outage.

  • Cardiff
  • Glasgow
  • Manchester

Other Providers Affected

Additionally, minor outages have been reported for other service providers. Approximately 3,000 reports for BT and about 63 for Plusnet have also been logged on Downdetector.

Compensation Information

If you are affected by the disruption, you may qualify for compensation. Providers part of Ofcom’s automatic compensation program offer £8 per day for unresolved broadband issues after two days of disruption. They also compensate £25 for missed appointments and £5 for each day of delay in activating a new service.

How to File a Complaint

Vodafone has outlined the complaint process on its website. Users may:

  • Call the complaints team at 0333 3040 441.
  • Use the live chat feature for assistance.
  • Fill out an online complaint form.

Should the issue remain unresolved after eight weeks, you can escalate your complaint to an independent Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) scheme. Vodafone is a participant in the CISAS ADR program.
