  • Most grocery stores: Closed
  • Dartmouth Meat Market: Open
  • Drug stores: Most remain open

  • Regular service resumes: Tuesday, October 14

Waste Management Schedule

The waste collection schedule will also be affected. On Monday, there will be no curbside collection for green bins, recycling, or garbage. Both the Otter Lake waste management facility and the municipal recycling facility will not operate.

Transit Services

Transit services in Halifax will run on a holiday schedule. Details include:

  • First Alderney ferry trip: 7:30 a.m. from Alderney terminal
  • Last Alderney ferry trip: 11:45 p.m. departing from Halifax terminal
  • Woodside ferry: Not operating on October 13

Halifax Public Library and Parking

All branches of the Halifax Public Library will be closed on Monday. However, on-street paid parking will be free throughout the holiday.
