Residents of the European Economic Area can access ESU for free by registering. Other users must meet certain criteria to qualify for a free upgrade, including having the latest version of Windows 10, a Microsoft account, and updated PC settings. Otherwise, a fee of $30 (£22) or 1,000 Microsoft Rewards points is required. For commercial organizations, costs for ESU will start at $61 per device, varying by region.
