Early Sunday morning, a tragic shooting occurred at Willie’s Bar and Grill on St. Helena Island, resulting in four fatalities and 20 injuries. The incident took place around 1 a.m. as local law enforcement responded to multiple reports of gunfire.

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) arrived at the scene to find hundreds of patrons present when the shooting erupted. As deputies assessed the situation, it became clear that many individuals had sustained injuries. Emergency Medical Services quickly transported some victims to nearby hospitals, while others sought medical attention on their own.
Victim Information
Out of the 20 injured, four individuals were reported in critical condition. Tragically, four others were pronounced dead at the scene. The names of the victims have not yet been released pending notification of next of kin by the Beaufort County Coroner’s Office.
