Amanda Holden Reveals Medical Emergency after Home Incident Injury

Amanda Holden, the star of Britain’s Got Talent and host of The Inner Circle, has recently faced a medical emergency at her home. The incident occurred after an altercation between her 15-year-old cat, Muffy, and her new rescue cat from Corfu. Amanda, 54, intervened and ended up injured.

Amanda Holden’s Injury Details

During a broadcast on Heart Radio, Amanda shared that her hand became “swollen and infected” after her cat bit her. She described the chaotic moment when she attempted to separate the two cats, saying, “I literally lifted my arm in the air and she was still on it.” Following the incident, Amanda’s wrist had swollen to double its size and was extremely painful.

Symptoms and Medical Attention

Amanda experienced additional symptoms including a severe headache and difficulty speaking. While unsure if these issues were linked to the bite, she expressed concern over her injury. “I can’t move it,” she mentioned during the show. A doctor soon visited the studio to evaluate her condition.

Medical Response and Treatment

  • Amanda was prescribed two sets of antibiotics.
  • She was advised about the potential bacterial risks associated with cat bites.
  • Her doctor also inquired about her vaccination history for tetanus.

After receiving medical assistance, Amanda humorously recalled her husband, Chris Hughes, had sent a text joking about her situation, calling it a case of “milking” the cat bite. Despite the light-hearted nature of some comments, Amanda emphasized the seriousness of her condition.

Upcoming Appearance on The Inner Circle

Despite her injury, Amanda is set to return to screens for a special episode of her quiz show, The Inner Circle. The episode features notable contestants including Lawrence Chaney, Hannah Cockroft, and others, competing for a cash prize. It will air at 5:20 PM on BBC One.
