KW Oktoberfest, celebrating its 57th anniversary, is set to kick off with an exciting keg tapping event. This year’s festivities promise to bring the spirit of Bavarian culture to the Waterloo Region.
Keg Tapping Ceremony Details
The official keg tapping ceremony will take place in Carl Zehr Square, downtown Kitchener. The event is scheduled for Friday at noon, following a pre-show ceremony that will start at 11:30 a.m.
Featured Guests
This year’s event will feature notable personalities. Canadian artist Steven Page, best known as the former frontman of Barenaked Ladies, will join Chef D, the KW Oktoberfest Board President, in the ceremonial tapping of the keg.
Festivities at Wilkommen Platz Biergarten
Carl Zehr Square will be transformed into the Wilkommen Platz Biergarten for the duration of the festival. Attendees can expect a vibrant atmosphere filled with various Oktoberfest celebrations.
