This latest re-recall involves various models and years, with the majority of affected vehicles being the Ford Focus. Here’s a breakdown of the specifics:
- Ford Focus (2012-2018): 255,404 units are at risk due to a malfunctioning canister purge valve, which can lead to engine stalling. All units are estimated to have the defect, and the fix involves a software update to the powertrain control module.
- Ford F-150 (2018-2020): 91,190 units recalled due to daytime running lights that fail to dim correctly when switched from automatic to “Headlamps On.” A software reprogramming of the body control module is required.
- Ford F-150 (2017-2018): 10,742 units face the risk of unintended vehicle movement when shifting gears. All these trucks are expected to have the defect, and a software update is needed to resolve the issue.
- Ford F-150 (2017): 4,445 units are being recalled for potential loss of power to the instrument panel, leading to gauge inoperability in cold temperatures. A software update will address this issue.
- Ford Escape (2017): 18,124 vehicles were recalled for power windows that might exert excessive force when attempting to reverse direction. All units are expected to have this problem, which can be fixed with a software update.
- Ford Focus and Fusion (2015-2018 & 2013-2016): 5,252 units face potential clutch fractures leading to transmission fluid leaks. All affected vehicles require a software update as well.
- Ford Mustang and Lincoln Nautilus (2019): 4,151 units may experience issues with a non-functional instrument panel cluster at start-up. A software fix is necessary for all units involved.
