Lizzo Collaborates with Chili’s on New Baby Back Ribs Jingle
Chili’s has revived its iconic baby back ribs jingle, this time featuring the talented Lizzo. The singer showcased her unique take on the classic tune in a video released on Wednesday.
Lizzo’s Creative Spin on a Classic
This latest video pays tribute to the original 1996 commercial, where Chili’s employees sang while using kitchen items as instruments. Lizzo adds her creativity by performing with a rib flute, humorously prompting an onlooker to ask, “Is that a rib flute?” Additionally, she created a new verse and recorded an acapella version of the classic jingle.
About Lizzo
- Lizzo is famous for hits such as “Truth Hurts” and “Good as Hell.”
- She has won several Grammy and Emmy awards.
- The artist has recently discussed her dietary shift back to incorporating animal proteins.
Lizzo expressed her excitement about the collaboration, noting that Chili’s was a significant part of her childhood. She humorously recalled dressing up as a fried mozzarella cheese pull for Halloween when she was younger.
A Memorable Collaboration
In Lizzo’s own words, “When they reached out about collaborating, I couldn’t say yes fast enough. I don’t think there’s a more memorable jingle, so when putting my own spin on it, I really wanted to honor that history while also making it feel fun and very me.”
The new campaign spotlights Chili’s baby back ribs, which underwent a recipe enhancement last year. The improved version features larger ribs with a crispy exterior coated in caramelized barbecue sauce. These upgrades are part of a broader menu revamp that contributed to notable sales and customer growth for the chain over the past two years.
The Jingle’s Legacy
The baby back ribs jingle is not just a marketing tool; it’s a vital part of Chili’s brand history. Over the years, the brand has produced several renditions, including one with the R&B group Boyz II Men in 2023. This continuity reflects the brand’s commitment to blending nostalgia with modern flair.
