Amazon Prime Announces ‘All or Nothing’ Documentary on Manchester United for 2026-27

Amazon Prime has officially announced a deal with Manchester United for an upcoming ‘All or Nothing’ documentary. This series will take viewers behind the scenes of the club during the 2026-2027 season.

Details of the Documentary Deal

Filming is set to commence during the pre-season, with the documentary scheduled for release in the summer of 2027. It will be available in over 240 countries worldwide.

Manchester United has reported that the agreement includes a record access fee for a comparable documentary, exceeding £10 million. This marks the largest compensation from Amazon to a club for participation in such a project. Previous documentaries featured clubs like Arsenal, Manchester City, and Tottenham Hotspur.

Background of the Arrangement

Discussions for this documentary began around late 2024, aiming to document United’s season in a detailed, all-access format. Initially, concerns were raised during negotiations by former coach Ruben Amorim. He expressed worries about the potential impact on the team’s focus and progress. Amorim believed the project might serve as an unwelcome distraction.

Despite these reservations, Amorim left his position in January 2026. Since then, interim coach Michael Carrick has taken over, successfully leading the team back to the Champions League.

Focus of the Documentary

The upcoming documentary aims to provide insights into Manchester United’s new era under Carrick. It will showcase the club’s efforts to build on a third-place finish in the previous season. Significant attention will be given to the first-team players, coaching staff, and executive management, including notable figures like Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Other Media Ventures

  • United is also developing a historical retelling of the club’s legacy with production company Lionsgate.
  • A potential drama series inspired by the club’s history is underway, similar in style to “The Crown.”
  • Past discussions with Disney aimed to create a documentary focusing on Sir Alex Ferguson’s successful tenure, but no agreement was reached.

The documentary landscape surrounding Manchester United is evolving. The decision to collaborate with Amazon highlights the club’s growing willingness to embrace media opportunities, balancing commercial benefits with operational integrity. Filming will commence during pre-season preparations, including a friendly match against AC Milan in Wroclaw, Poland on August 15, where Carrick will face off against Amorim.
