As excitement brewed outside, many fans flocked to Black Taxi, a popular soccer bar in Fairmount, to catch the 9 p.m. match. Rebecca Bengharbia from Scotland noted the welcoming environment for soccer fans, something she missed from her home country.
Regular patrons, like Rainey Backues from South Philadelphia, highlighted the bar’s role as a hub for World Cup viewing. Tiarnan Donnelly, a server at Black Taxi, remarked on the hectic atmosphere following the Fan Fest, with thousands celebrating on the streets.

This vibrant scene continued throughout the day, featuring FIFA Fan Fest activities. Fans, including Ryan Regag from Downingtown, enjoyed the Brazil-Morocco match earlier, showcasing the rich culture of soccer in various communities.
The excitement is set to peak on Sunday, when Philadelphia hosts its first World Cup match at 7 p.m.
