Kelvin Fletcher’s Wife Liz Admits Embarrassment Before Emotional Outburst

Liz Fletcher recently shared her experiences and challenges of farming alongside her husband, Kelvin Fletcher, and their four children. Their journey, documented on the popular ITV show ‘Fletcher’s Family Farm,’ highlights the trials and triumphs of rural life.
Embarrassing Moments at the Farm Show
During a candid interview with The Farmer’s Guardian podcast, Liz opened up about a notably awkward moment at a farm show. She recalled her first experience showing their sheep, which did not unfold as planned. “My sheep was just the most embarrassing sheep ever,” she admitted.
Liz described how her sheep feigned being unresponsive during the show, leading to her initial embarrassment. “I was just standing still, and as soon as the judge inspected the sheep’s teeth, it began jumping and lying flat,” she said. The judges, however, seemed understanding, scoring her sheep positively despite the commotion.
A Family Victory Amidst Challenges
Despite the chaos, Liz’s daughter, Marnie, achieved a triumph of her own by winning fourth place with her sheep. “I was crying my eyes out, just filled with pride. My daughter was only three or four at the time,” Liz reflected on the heartwarming moment as they took home the award.
Farming Adventures and Tough Decisions
Throughout their farming journey, Liz and Kelvin have faced numerous challenges. Their commitment to sustainable farming has led them to make difficult decisions, such as parting with beloved alpacas to accommodate cattle, sheep, and pigs. In a recent episode of their series, Liz explained, “We’ll be sad to lose them, but we need the land back for the other animals.”
They recognized the financial realities of running a sustainable farm and emphasized the need to focus on animals that contribute commercially to their livelihood.
Upcoming Appearances
For those interested in their farming journey, Liz and Kelvin are set to appear on James Martin’s Saturday Morning. This episode is scheduled to air on June 13 at 09:30 on ITV1, offering viewers more insights into their fascinating and evolving life on the farm.
