Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find a serious crash involving a passenger vehicle and four motorcycles. The investigation revealed that an 18-year-old man from Peterborough was driving the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Among the motorcyclists, a 72-year-old man from Dunchurch was also pronounced dead at the scene. A second motorcyclist, a 65-year-old Barrie resident, was airlifted to a hospital in the Toronto area but later succumbed to his injuries.
