In a recent interview with VIBE, A$AP Rocky shared his thoughts on fatherhood. He believes in being emotionally present and loving for his children. “That’s easy. That’s me all day,” he expressed, highlighting his commitment to being an involved father.
Joyful Moments During Labor
Rocky recounted the excitement of the births of their second child, Riot, in August 2023, and their daughter, Rocki Irish Mayers, in September 2025. He emphasized how the experience during the deliveries mirrored that of their first. “We were laughing while she was in labor, literally laughing and cracking jokes,” he recalled. This light-hearted approach has been an essential part of their parenting journey.
Facing Challenges
While celebrating these joyful moments, the couple also faced a frightening situation. In March, their Los Angeles home was targeted in a shooting incident when an individual fired over ten shots from an AR-15-style rifle. A$AP Rocky expressed the emotional toll this incident took on their family, stating, “It was f–ked up. Somebody attempted at [harming] me and my family.” He described the impact it had on their sense of peace and happiness.
Legal Proceedings Against the Suspect
The alleged shooter, Ivanna Ortiz, was arrested nearby their home after attempting to flee the scene. Ortiz is facing serious charges, including assault with a semiautomatic firearm and shooting at an occupied dwelling. If convicted, she could face life in prison. In May, she was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation as doubts were raised about her ability to stand trial.
