Alison Lee, a professional golfer on the LPGA Tour, is navigating the complexities of motherhood alongside her sports career. The 31-year-old athlete is focused on maximizing her performance over the next one to two years while expressing a desire to expand her family.
Embracing Motherhood and Golf
During a recent interview at the U.S. Women’s Open, Lee shared her reflections on balancing her dual roles. She stated, “I’m just going to do everything I can, just tell myself absolutely no regrets looking back and just try really hard for this next probably year to maybe two years to just play the best golf I can.” This illustrates her commitment to both her family aspirations and her golf career.
Recent Performance and Goals
Lee has shown promising performance this season, achieving notable finishes. Her recent results include:
- Tied for 13th at the JM Eagle LA Championship.
- Tied for third at the Mizuho Americas Open.
- Competing at the U.S. Women’s Open alongside leading players.
Reflecting on her career, Lee expressed that prior to becoming a mother, she was on a strong trajectory, nearly qualifying for both the Olympics and the Solheim Cup. In 2024, she recorded four top-10 finishes, earning approximately $541,300.
Aiming for Victory
Despite her successful amateur background, Lee is still seeking her first victory on the LPGA Tour after joining in 2015. She has finished as runner-up four times, with three of those finishes occurring consecutively in 2023. She remains optimistic about her chances, noting, “I can still have a chance to win out here because I still have yet to win on the LPGA Tour.”
Future Aspirations
As Lee prepares for the upcoming years, she recognizes the challenges ahead. She stated, “If I were to have another baby, I think it would be ten times more difficult to try and come back and play.” With her ambitions firmly in mind, she is determined to pursue her goals and continue her golf journey without regrets.
Lee will aim to leverage her competitive experiences at the U.S. Women’s Open to achieve her long-awaited breakthrough win on the Tour.
