Chris Hemsworth’s Family Faces Airline Staff Intervention on International Flight

During a recent family trip, Chris Hemsworth faced a notable snarl before even departing for their international flight. The actor mistakenly brought his daughter’s passport instead of his son’s, triggering an amusing yet unfortunate series of events. Hemsworth, accompanied by his wife Elsa Pataky, shared this incident during a joint interview with El-Balad.
Passport Mix-Up Causes Travel Delays
Arriving at the airport for their flight, Hemsworth realized the important mistake. He had unintentionally packed his daughter’s passport, which resulted in a denied boarding for the family. Desperate to resolve the situation, Hemsworth attempted to persuade airline staff that the passport belonged to his traveling companion.
Attempts to Justify the Mistake
“This is her,” Hemsworth explained to a security agent. However, his efforts were quickly met with a firm response, “That’s a boy.” In a light-hearted moment, Hemsworth defended his position, claiming that all his children “kind of look the same.”
Countering his husband’s argument, Pataky chimed in with a reality check. “They don’t,” she stated, reflecting the absurdity of the situation. Ultimately, their plea failed to convince airline personnel, and the family had to forfeit their plans for the day.
Life Outside Hollywood Spotlight
The couple, who calls Byron Bay, Australia home, have opted for a life away from the Hollywood spotlight while raising their three children. Their family includes India Rose, 14, and twin boys, Sasha and Tristan, who are 12 years old. Hemsworth has described the dynamic between his twins as oppositional yet complementary.
Contrasting Personalities of the Twin Boys
“Tristan is so athletic but there’s not an aggressive bone in his body; he’s the most emotional one,” Hemsworth shared. Meanwhile, he characterized Sasha as more assertive, noting, “Sasha is like a little gangster.” Despite their different personalities, the twins share a deep bond.
Hemsworth recalled an incident from their preschool days when Sasha defended Tristan after a push from another child. “Sasha goes over to this older kid and says, ‘Why’d you push my brother?’” he recounted, reflecting on the proud yet humorous nature of the moment.
Reflections on Fatherhood
Fatherhood has transformed Hemsworth’s priorities considerably. He admitted that having children has impacted his acting career. “There’s definitely a couple of films I could’ve put way more energy into, but I was like, ‘No, I’d rather be with my kids.’” For the actor, family continues to take precedence over the demands of the entertainment industry.
This experience serves as a reminder of the challenges and humor that can arise in family life, even for a high-profile actor like Chris Hemsworth.
