M25 Dartford Crossing Closure Scheduled for This Weekend

Drivers should prepare for significant disruptions at the Dartford Crossing this weekend. The QEII Bridge will undergo a full closure as part of routine maintenance and safety inspections.
M25 Dartford Crossing Closure Scheduled for This Weekend
The bridge, which connects Essex and Kent, will close from 10 PM on Saturday, June 6, until 5 AM on Sunday, June 7. During this time, the Dartford east tunnel will operate under a contraflow system to facilitate southbound traffic on the M25/A282.
Traffic Management for Northbound Journeys
The west tunnel will remain open for northbound traffic. However, a height restriction will affect vehicles measuring between 4.8 meters (15 feet 9 inches) and 5.0 meters (16 feet 6 inches). These larger vehicles will need to take an alternative route via the M25 clockwise.

To assist drivers affected by the closures, the following diversion plans will be in place:
- East Tunnel: Vehicles below 4.8m (15 feet 9 inches) will be rerouted via the west tunnel.
- West Tunnel: All drivers will be diverted through the east tunnel.
- QEII Bridge: Southbound traffic will divert via the east tunnel. Northbound vehicles less than 4.8m can use the west tunnel, while those measuring between 4.8m and 5.0m will be redirected via the M25 clockwise.
