Odell Beckham Jr. Rejoins the New York Giants

The New York Giants have officially welcomed back Odell Beckham Jr., a much-loved figure in the franchise. This reunion comes after Beckham’s workout with the team in April, marking his return to the Meadowlands.
Beckham’s NFL Journey
Odell Beckham Jr. has had an extensive career in the NFL, playing for ten seasons. He previously suited up for teams like the Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens, and Miami Dolphins. In 2021, he earned a Super Bowl title with the Los Angeles Rams, following his mid-season transition from the Browns.
History with the Giants
Beckham began his professional journey with the Giants after being drafted 12th overall in the 2014 NFL Draft. He made an immediate impact by being selected to the Pro Bowl in his first three seasons. During his tenure, Beckham secured notable accolades, including the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2014 and All-Pro second-team selections in 2015 and 2016.
After five seasons with the Giants, he was traded to the Browns in exchange for a first-round pick, a third-round pick, and safety Jabrill Peppers ahead of the 2019 season.
Beckham’s Career Stats
Throughout his NFL career, Beckham has recorded impressive statistics:
- Receptions: 575
- Receiving Yards: 7,987
- Touchdowns: 59
- Games Played: 119
He ranks as the Giants’ second-leading all-time receiver, accumulating 5,476 yards during his time with the team.
Recent Challenges and Comeback
Beckham last played for the Dolphins in 2024, where he made 35 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns. However, he faced setbacks due to a six-game suspension for performance-enhancing drugs, causing him to miss the entire previous season. Additionally, he was sidelined in 2022 while recovering from a torn ACL sustained in the Super Bowl.
Giants’ Receiver Situation
The Giants also navigated challenges at the wide receiver position this off-season. Gunner Olszewski recently tore his right Achilles tendon during practice, creating a need for additional support. Malik Nabers’ recovery from a torn ACL adds further uncertainty to the team’s receiving corps.
New Additions and Expectations
In light of these injuries, the Giants bolstered their receiving lineup by adding Beckham, along with JuJu Smith-Schuster and Braxton Berrios. With a disappointing four-win season behind them, the Giants are looking forward to the upcoming 2026 season, led by their second-year quarterback, Jaxson Dart.
Smith-Schuster, who had 33 catches for 345 yards and one touchdown with the Kansas City Chiefs last season, adds experience to the group. Meanwhile, Berrios, known for his return abilities, joins as a strategic move to fill the gap left by Olszewski’s injury.
General manager Joe Schoen and head coach John Harbaugh have been proactive this off-season, signing several receivers, including Calvin Austin, Darnell Mooney, and Ryan Miller, and re-signing Isaiah Hodgins, who previously achieved a 1,000-yard season.
