This three-match series kicks off on Saturday, with Peake on track to become Australia’s fourth-youngest ODI player at just 19 years old.
Injury Challenges and Team Composition
The Australian squad faces challenges with stand-in captain Mitchell Marsh sidelined due to an ankle injury. This situation has reduced the player pool to just 14, limiting the selection to seven specialist batters. This includes allrounder Liam Scott, who is also poised to make his ODI debut but is expected to play a lower-order role.
With Marsh and Travis Head unavailable, Peake’s debut seems imminent, as the team requires a second opener alongside Matt Short. Alex Carey may also step in, creating opportunities for Peake batting at numbers five and six.
