Patrick Bruel, aged 67, is currently facing at least four investigations for alleged sexual assault in France, along with a judicial inquiry in Belgium concerning sexual aggression. He maintains his innocence regarding these accusations.
In a statement, Bruel’s production company, 14 Productions, noted that multiple festival organizers reported experiencing pressure, negatively affecting their planning. It emphasized the desire to maintain a peaceful atmosphere for both organizers and audiences, stating, “We do not wish to expose anyone to a climate of tension.”
Withdrawal from Charity Concerts
In addition to festival dates, Bruel has also withdrawn from upcoming shows with the Enfoirés, a charitable group he has been part of since 1993. This decision was made to prevent embarrassment to the association and its beneficiaries, according to organizer Anne Marcassus.
Earlier this week, his performance in a Paris theater was disrupted by feminist activists advocating against violence towards women. This event follows alarming allegations made on the TF1 program “Sept à Huit,” detailing a troubling incident from 2019 at the Paléo Festival involving a volunteer masseuse.
