Koloth was attacked by a black bear while working at a site situated near Nordbye Lake, approximately 850 kilometers northeast of Saskatoon. A civilian on the scene shot the bear following the attack, and the animal was later taken to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine for a necropsy.
His brother, Arjun, received the devastating news around 4 a.m. from an RCMP officer. “That knock turned my world upside down,” he recalled. Arjun described Hrishikesh as a dreamer who aspired to fight in the UFC. He was set to start a new job as a boxing coach in Vancouver in June, aiming to further his fighting career.
