Sharks Reveal 2025-26 Alternate Captains Roster

San Jose Sharks Head Coach Ryan Warsofsky has announced the leadership team for the 2025-26 season. Tyler Toffoli, Alexander Wennberg, Barclay Goodrow, Mario Ferraro, and Macklin Celebrini will serve as the team’s Alternate Captains.

Player Profiles

Tyler Toffoli

At 33, Toffoli is entering his second season with the Sharks. He had an impressive season, posting a personal record with at least 30 goals for the third consecutive year. Toffoli led the team with 33 goals and finished third in points with 56. Notably, he recorded a six-game point streak early in the year.

Alexander Wennberg

30-year-old Wennberg contributed 35 points last season, including 10 goals and 25 assists. He was instrumental in ensuring game success, with the Sharks holding a record of 5-2-2 when he scored. He celebrated his 100th career goal on March 27, 2025.

Barclay Goodrow

Goodrow, age 32, played in 77 games last year, scoring eight points. He reached the milestone of 600 NHL games in December 2024. Goodrow is known for his memorable overtime goal in Game Seven against Vegas back in 2019.

Mario Ferraro

As the 27-year-old Ferraro steps into his seventh season, he is recognized for his defensive skill set. Last season, he led the team in blocked shots and takeaways. Ferraro was nominated for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy, a testament to his leadership on and off the ice.

Macklin Celebrini

The youngest at 19, Celebrini excelled in his rookie season, achieving 63 points and breaking multiple franchise records for first-year players. He was named a Calder Trophy Finalist and recognized as the Sharks Rookie of the Year.
