Howard, Tomasek Recalled; Hyman Moves to Long-Term IR

The Edmonton Oilers have made significant roster moves as they prepare for their upcoming season opener. On Tuesday, four key transactions were announced, including the placement of veteran forward Zach Hyman on long-term injured reserve (LTIR).
Zach Hyman’s Injury Update
Zach Hyman is currently recuperating from wrist surgery, an injury he suffered during the Western Conference Final. The Oilers have stated that he should be ready to return to game action by early November, according to Head Coach Kris Knoblauch.
Recent Roster Changes
In addition to Hyman’s placement on LTIR, the Oilers made several other roster adjustments:
- David Tomasek was recalled from the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors.
- Isaac Howard was also recalled from Bakersfield.
- James Hamblin was loaned back to the Condors.
These moves indicate the Oilers’ proactive approach as they finalize their lineup for the season opener against the Calgary Flames on Wednesday.
