UAE Weather: Eid Al Adha Temperatures to Soar Above 45ºC

The United Arab Emirates is set for an extremely hot Eid Al Adha holiday, with temperatures expected to exceed 45ºC in many areas. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has released forecasts indicating that the heat will peak early next week, coinciding with the Eid festivities.

Forecasted Temperatures During Eid Al Adha

On Friday, daytime temperatures in Abu Dhabi are expected to reach 40ºC, while Dubai could see highs of 37ºC. Over the weekend, conditions will remain warm, with temperatures in both cities hovering in the high 30s. Winds will be strong, gusting up to 40 km/h, creating dusty conditions.

Detailed Weather Outlook

  • Friday: Abu Dhabi – 40ºC; Dubai – 37ºC
  • Saturday: High 30s in both cities, strong winds
  • Sunday: Cloudy skies with morning mist

The Northern Emirates, traditionally cooler, will also experience rising temperatures. From Monday, public sector employees will begin their Eid Al Adha week-long break, with forecasts indicating peaks of 43ºC in Al Ain and 41ºC in Fujairah.

Peak Temperatures Expected

On Tuesday, temperatures in Fujairah may reach as high as 46ºC. This temperature spike coincides with a holiday declared by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization, giving public sector staff five days off starting Monday, May 25, through Friday, May 29. Private sector employees will enjoy leave from Tuesday, May 26, to Friday, May 29.

Summer on the Horizon

The UAE is currently transitioning from a cooler spring, characterized by fluctuating weather patterns, to hotter summer temperatures. Recent months have seen consistent highs above 40ºC, raising concerns about heat safety.

Last year marked a record-breaking May, with average daily temperatures exceeding 40ºC. The situation prompted the NCM to issue advisories for heat safety, urging residents to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged sun exposure.

As we approach the first day of summer on June 21, residents are reminded to take precautionary measures during the upcoming intense heat of Eid Al Adha.
