Hamilton Stays Strong in F1 as Grand Prix Hits Montreal

At the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal, Lewis Hamilton made it clear that he has no plans to retire from Formula One. The seasoned driver, now with Ferrari, addressed speculation during a press conference, emphasizing that he feels motivated and committed to the sport. “I’m going to be here for quite some time, so get used to it,” stated Hamilton.
Hamilton’s Journey with Ferrari
Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, transitioned to Ferrari last season after an extensive 12-year tenure with Mercedes. His first podium finish with Ferrari came in March 2024 at the Chinese Grand Prix. Currently, he is fifth in the drivers’ championship, trailing teammate Charles Leclerc by eight points.
Hamilton’s Focus and Commitment
At 41, Hamilton remains excited about his future in Formula One. “I’m still focused, I’m still motivated, I still love what I do with all my heart,” he shared. Despite teething issues with his new team, Hamilton expressed satisfaction with his progress and the team’s direction.
Verstappen’s Future in Formula One
Max Verstappen, another reigning champion, also hinted at staying in Formula One amid potential changes to race regulations. The Dutch driver, currently racing for Red Bull, mentioned that recent discussions about shifting the power balance between combustion and electrical power could play a crucial role in his decision to continue racing.
Regulatory Changes and Competitiveness
Verstappen previously voiced frustration over current regulations but noted that adjustments to a 60-40 power split for next season have improved his outlook. “It’s definitely heading into a very positive direction,” he commented. This change is seen as beneficial for the sport and enhances the driving experience.
Current Championship Standings
