The family of a missing 14-year-old girl is speaking publicly a week after her disappearance. Esther was last seen in North York, specifically near Bathurst Street and Hotspur Road, around midnight on Saturday. Her family has made an urgent plea for anyone with information to come forward.

Esther, who is diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum, was reportedly wearing a long-sleeved turquoise sweater with writing on it and grey pants when she went missing. Duty Insp. Jon Rose provided this update during a press briefing.

On a recent radio interview, family member Lolly Herman expressed their anguish. “We want Esti home. She’s been gone too long,” she stated. The family is desperate for her safe return and is encouraging the North York community to check their recording devices, backyards, and sheds for any clues.

In light of the situation, Toronto police have escalated their search efforts to a Level 1 operation, which is the highest designation for missing person cases. This allows the police to utilize canine, mounted, and marine units in their search.
